SER CELEBRATES GANDHI JAYANTI AS SWACHH BHARAT DIVAS

Kolkata, 2nd October, 2017

Gandhi Jayanti (2nd October) was observed in S E Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach as Swachh Bharat Divas as a part of Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign. 

            o­n this auspicious occasion, Shri S N Agrawal, General Manager, South Eastern Railway, flagged off a Walk-a-Thon at the S E Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach to observe Swachh Bharat Divas as a part of Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign which  commenced o­n and from 15th September and concluded today all over Indian Railways.

            o­n this occasion, General Manager spoke about the significance of Gandhi Jayanti and Swachh Bharat Divas as a part of Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign. General Manager, SER, Shri Agrawal appealed to all Staff and Officers to maintain the process of cleanliness in all areas of Railway Premises, Stations and Trains. General Manager stressed o­n regular maintenance at every nook and corner of Railway areas for cleaner and hygienic Railway premises and train journey.

            Shri Anirban Datta, Addl. General Manager, Principal Head of the Departments and a huge number of staff and officers turned up and participated in the Walk-a-Thon focusing the healthier aptitude towards healthier railways.

A mass gathering of railways sports persons, medicos & paramedicos, S E Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides, Civil Defence Personnel and Staff & officers displaying colourful banners also joined this massive campaign and Walk-a-Thon which moved around S E Railway Colonies in spreading awareness amongst Railwaymen to keep clean Railway Colonies, Premises, Stations, Trains etc.

To mark this occasion a lot of programmes like Sit and Draw Competition, Quiz Contest etc were organized.

Gandhi Jayanti was also observed at all four Divisions of S E Railway i.e. Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi with active participation of large number of railwaymen to clean Railway stations, platforms, trains, tracks, colonies, offices etc.
