ALL INDIA RAILWAYS BRIDGE CHAMPIONSHIP INAUGURATED

AT SER’S HEADQUARTERS

Kolkata, Aug.28, 2017 :

            The 40th All India Railways Bridge Championships – 2017-18 under the aegis of South Eastern Railway Sports Association was inaugurated this morning (28.8.2017) at BNR Officers’ Club, Garden Reach.  Shri Anirban Datta, Addl.General Manager, South Eastern Railway graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the programme. This Championship will continue upto 30th August, 2017.

The participating teams are – South Eastern Railway, Central Railway, Eastern Railway, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Metro Railways and Kolkata Port Trust.  Altogether 50 players from various Zonal Railways, Production Units and Kolkata Port Trust are taking part in this Tournament. The Nationally and Internationally reputed players will be seen in action in this exciting indoor game of brain exercise.  The international players who are participating are  Shri Subir Kumar Majumdar and Sri Sandip Dutta of SER, Shri Amar Nath Banerjee and Sri Rana Roy of Eastern Railway, Shri Sumit Mukherjee, Shri Debabrata Majumdar of Metro Railway and Shri Gopinath Manna of Central Railway.

            This game promotes good partnership, quality time pass, mild disposition, teammanship and exercise of intellect. 

Addl.General Manager Shri Anirban Datta while inaugurating the Championships said that all participating players should show respect and abide by the rules that govern them in true spirit of Sportsmanhip for the glory of sports and honour the teams during 3-day Tournament.
