               SER OBSERVES WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

Kolkata, June 05, 2017

                         A massive tree plantation programme was organized at South Eastern Railway headquarters, Garden Reach this morning (05.06.17) as a part of celebration of World Environment Day.  Shri S.N.Agrawal, General Manager, South Eastern Railway planted saplings in S.E.Railway Colony and took part in a Walk-a-Thon to create awareness about environment friendly activities. Shri J.K.Saha, Chief Mechanical Engineer, S.E.Railway and other senior officers and staff took part in the Walk-a-Thon which moved through the S E Railway colony at Garden Reach. Members of SER Bharat Scouts & Guides and family members of railway employees displaying colourful placards and banners also joined the Walk-a-Thon. Earlier, Shri S.N.Agrawal, General Manager while addressing a gathering of railway staff and officers spoke about the different eco friendly steps taken by S.E.Railway and appealed to all for strictly avoiding the things which are causing environment pollution. 

World Environment Day was also observed at all the Divisional Offices of South Eastern Railway.
