SER’s NEW GENERAL MANAGER
Shri A.K.Verma has taken over as General Manager of South Eastern
Railway today i.e 9/11/2011. Prior to this, Shri Verma was working as
Chief Mechanical Engineer, Central Railway.
Shri Verma is an officer from Indian Railways Service of Mechanical
Engineers (IRSME) and has wide experience of working in various zonal
railways like Central, Northern, North Western and North Eastern
Railways on various important assignments. He has worked as Chief
Mechanical Engineer of three zonal railways i.e. North Eastern, North
Western and Central Railways. He has also worked in Railway Board as
Director, Mechanical Engineering.
He has visited United States, United Kingdom (England) and Canada in
connection with “Fuel Efficient Driving Techniques” and GE
Locomotives. He has also attended a workshop on “Strategic Management
Programme” at Paris in 2006 while working as Divisional Railway
Manager, Jaipur.
He has vast knowledge and expertise about Railway Mechanical
Engineering- especially about Diesel Locomotives and Freight Wagons
and its movement.
